“To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear”
Wellness is all encompassing and is based on 3 pillars of a balanced diet, our physical activity and our emotional wellbeing. In our initial consultation we review the medical history and presenting symptoms.
We conduct certain lab tests if needed and help evaluate the root of the presenting symptoms. We can support rooting out habits that do not serve you and replace them for cleaner and healthier ways of living – that can be sustained long term.
My principal role is to educate and enlighten my clients about encompassing all 3 pillars of wellness in their nutrition plan to achieve their goals.
During this process, we help you make lifestyle changes that are bespoke to you and also practical. It is not about major changes or restrictions, but rather about creating a wonderful relationship with food that can be maintained realistically and with minimum effort.
Different foods affect different areas of the body. Macronutrients and micronutrients, vitamins and minerals – they are all harboured in the things that we eat, and all at different values. While it is certainly not impossible to grasp the concept of nutrition, understanding the science behind it and utilising each ingredient in your meal to effectively suit your personal health is something else all together. Nutrition not only influences your genes, but it also has an influence over the occurrence and makeup of the trillions of microbes that inhabit our body––especially our gut. These microbes influence our metabolism, our immune system, and our brain function. Not only that, every individual needs different nutrients at varying volumes.
Accomplishing a balanced diet may sound laborious, especially if you have a busy schedule. However, following the optimum diet for your body can be nothing short of incredible. It’s why you hear so many say ‘you are what you eat’ – because the benefits of balanced nutrition go far beyond maintaining a healthy weight.
By giving our body what it needs, we
- reduce the risk of contracting certain diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis, and some cancers
- reduce high blood pressure
- decrease high cholesterol
- improve our ability to fight off illness
- improve our ability to recover from illnesses and injuries
- increase our energy levels
- improve our overall well-being
- improve our self-confidence
As a consultant, I can identify how food affects different systems of the body, but my principal role is to educate and enlighten my clients about their dietary needs. I work with you to help you achieve a diet that will improve your overall health.
During this process, I broadly evaluate my clients current lifestyle and identify areas that need adjusting. Once I understand how they eat, observe their activity, and review their medical history, I will help them make lifestyle changes that are not only beneficial and tailored to them, but ones that are practical. It is not about major changes or restrictions, but rather about creating a wonderful relationship with food that can be maintained realistically and that, ultimately, makes you feel good.
